Placing the Netgear Extender
⦁ While completing the setup fo the Netgear router it is recommended to place the extender and router close to each other. Once the setup is complete, you must place the extender somewhere in between the router and area with weak wifi signals.
⦁ Try keeping the extender in the same room as the router.
⦁ Plugin the extender into the power source. Check the LED lights as it must turn green in color. If the light is still blinking press the power button.
Connect the Extender with the Wi-Fi Network
⦁ Connect the extender with the wifi router for extending the range of the wifi network. You can either use the WPS method or Netgear genie smart wizard to complete the setup.
Connect using the WPS Method
⦁ The WPS method allows you to connect the extender and the router using the WPS button. But, you must know that the WPS does not support the WEP key so if you are using the WEP security then you need to connect using the Netgear genie smart wizard only.
⦁ Press the WPS button on the extender.
⦁ After two minutes, press the WPS button on the router also.
⦁ Now check the LED lights as it must turn solid green. If the light is not green then it is clear that the connection is not established. In such a situation, get in touch with the Netgear technical support team for help.
⦁ Now, open your computer or any other device, check the name of the extender. The new extender name is the same as the wifi network name with _ext in the end.
⦁ Now, try to connect the existing wireless devices with the new extended network. You can use the same wifi password as the wifi network.
⦁ Take out the plug of the extender and move it to the place where you want to keep it. In most cases, it is better to place the extender somewhere closer to the router and the area that does not receive wifi signals.
⦁ Plugin the Netgear extender n300 into the power source and then wait for a few minutes. Check the indicator lights as they must turn green.
⦁ Now, the extender will automatically complete the login.
